Defect
Improper water-sealing treatment at the joint between the cowl louver and the dash panel allows rainwater to drip onto the brake booster, causing rust. Continued use accelerates rust progression and, in the worst case, can perforate the brake booster. As a result, brake pedal effort increases and stopping distance is extended.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the water seal at the cowl louver and dash panel joint with a corrected part. Additionally, inspect the brake booster. If rust has progressed, replace the brake booster with a new unit. If rust has not progressed, apply rust-prevention treatment to the brake booster.

状況
カウルルーバーとダッシュパネルの合わせ部の止水処理が不適切なため、雨水等がブレーキブースタに滴下するものがある。そのため、ブレーキブースタに錆が発生し、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、錆が早期に進行して、最悪の場合、ブレーキブースタに穴があき、ブレーキペダルの操作力が増大し、制動距離が長くなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、カウルルーバーとダッシュパネルの合わせ部の止水シールを対策品に交換する。また、ブレーキブースタを点検し、錆が進行しているものについては、ブレーキブースタを新品に交換する、錆が進行していないものについては、ブレーキブースタに防錆処理を施す。
