Defect

In the hybrid system, the fault-detection control program is improperly configured. If a boost circuit element is damaged during high-load driving such as hard acceleration, the system may fail to transition to fail-safe control mode as intended. Consequently, a warning light illuminates, the hybrid system shuts down, and the vehicle may become inoperable.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, reprogram the fault-detection control program to the corrected specification. If an element is subsequently damaged after reprogramming and a warning light illuminates, the power converter module will be replaced free of charge.
