Defect
On the cameras used to monitor the area immediately in front of and to the left of the vehicle, the lens surface coating on some units is improper. Acids present in cleaning agents or rainwater erode the coating. With continued use, the erosion progresses to the lens itself, causing it to turn white and opaque. The side camera image gradually loses clarity and, in the worst case, the driver may be unable to monitor the area directly in front of and to the immediate left of the vehicle.
Corrective action
Notify all users of this defect. If lens whitening and opacity are present, replace the side camera with a corrected part.

状況
車両の直前および直左の周辺状況を確認するカメラにおいて、レンズ表面のコーティングが不適切なものがある。そのため、洗浄剤や雨水などに含まれる酸でコーティング剤が浸食され、そのまま使用を続けると、レンズ本体も浸食して白濁化し、サイドカメラの映像が徐々に鮮明に映らなくなり、最悪の場合、車両の直前および直左の周辺状況を確認できなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全使用者へ当該不具合について周知し、レンズの白濁が発生している場合には、サイドカメラを対策品に交換する。
