Defect
On the gas-charged stays of the back door, the paint applied to the outer tube's end cap is improper, allowing corrosion to develop under the influence of salt air in coastal areas. Continued use allows the corrosion to progress, causing the outer tube to swell and the end cap to crack. When the back door is opened, the outer tube may fracture and, in the worst case, injure bystanders.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the back door stay with a corrected part. Because replacement parts require time to prepare, vehicles in salt-damage areas and older model years will be prioritized for replacement.

状況
バックドアのガス封入式ステーにおいて、外筒のエンドキャップ部の塗装が不適切なため、沿岸地域の塩分の影響で腐食することがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、腐食が進行し、外筒が膨らみ、エンドキャップが割れ、バックドアを開く際に外筒が破損し、最悪の場合、周囲の人が負傷するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、バックドアステーを対策品と交換する。 尚、交換部品の準備に時間を要することから、塩害地域と年式の古いものから順次交換する。
