Defect
On the rear wheel axle, the oil seal that retains differential oil has an improper shape, resulting in insufficient sealing between the axle case and the oil seal. Pressure fluctuations inside the axle cause differential oil to leak. If the vehicle continues to be operated in this condition, the oil may enter the rear wheel brake drum and coat the brake shoes, reducing rear wheel braking force. In the worst case, the parking brake may fail to hold the vehicle on a slope.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the oil seal with a corrected part. Additionally, inspect the bearing and brake shoes; if differential oil contamination is found, replace the affected bearing or brake shoes with new parts.

状況
後輪アクスルにおいて、デフオイルを密封するオイルシールの形状が不適切なため、アクスルケースとオイルシールの密封性が低いものがある。そのため、アクスル内の圧力変化でデフオイルが漏れ、そのまま使用を続けると、後輪ドラムブレーキ内部に浸入し、ブレーキシューにデフオイルが付着すると、後輪の制動力が低下し、最悪の場合、坂路において駐車ブレーキが効かなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該オイルシールを対策品と交換する。 また、ベアリング、および、ブレーキシューを点検し、デフオイルの付着が認められる場合は、ベアリング又はブレーキシューを新品と交換する。
