Defect

In the automatic transmission, the rivets securing the torque converter lockup clutch were manufactured to incorrect dimensions, resulting in insufficient strength. The rivets may fracture, and the resulting fragments cause abnormal wear of the friction material, preventing lockup engagement and illuminating a warning light. In the worst case, wear debris clogs the oil strainer, oil pump pressure drops, and the vehicle becomes inoperable.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, replace the torque converter with a corrected part. If a specific fault code is confirmed, replace the transmission assembly as well.

状況

オートマチックトランスミッションにおいて、トルクコンバータのロックアップクラッチを固定するリベット寸法が不適切なため、強度が不足してリベットが破損することがある。そのため、リベットの破損片による摩擦材の異常摩耗等が発生して、トルクコンバータのロックアップができなくなり警告灯が点灯し、最悪の場合、摩耗粉によりオイルストレーナーが詰まり、オイルポンプの油圧が不足することで走行不能となるおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、トルクコンバータを対策品に交換する。なお、特定の故障コードを確認した場合はトランスミッション本体を交換する。
