Defect
The PTC heater, which supplements cabin heating, uses improper control logic. When the heater is operated repeatedly at maximum output, heat generated by the PTC heater may deform the terminals of the PTC heater harness connector. Continued use in this condition causes the terminal contact to degrade, raising terminal temperature. The connector may then melt, and in the worst case a vehicle fire may occur.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the PTC heater with a new unit and replace the PTC heater harness with a corrected/revised part. Until replacement parts are available, the PTC heater will be temporarily disabled as an interim measure.

状況
暖房を補助するＰＴＣヒータにおいて、制御が不適切なため、ヒータが最大出力で作動する状態で繰り返し使用した場合、ＰＴＣヒータの発熱により、ＰＴＣヒータハーネスコネクタ端子が変形することがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、端子部が接触不良により高温となりコネクタが溶損し、最悪の場合、車両火災に至るおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、ＰＴＣヒータを新品に交換するとともに、ＰＴＣヒータハーネスを対策品に交換する。なお、交換部品の準備ができるまで、一時的に機能停止の措置をする。
