Defect
On ABS-equipped vehicles, the rear wheel ABS sensor mounting structure is improperly designed, resulting in insufficient sealing at the mounting surface. Mud and water penetrate through the seal and reach the bearing interior, causing inadequate lubrication. Continued use can cause bearing damage. In the worst case, the bearing may fail, allowing the rear axle shaft to disengage and rendering the vehicle inoperable.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, apply sealant to the ABS sensor mounting area and inspect the seal for rust. If evidence of water intrusion into the bearing is found, replace the complete rear axle assembly with new parts.

状況
ＡＢＳ付き車において、後輪のＡＢＳセンサ取付け部の構造が不適切なため、取付け面のシール性が低いものがある。そのため、シール部から浸入した泥水等がベアリング内に到達し、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、ベアリングが潤滑不良となり、最悪の場合、ベアリングが破損し、後輪アクスルシャフトが抜けて走行不能となるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、ＡＢＳセンサ取付け部にシール剤を塗布するとともに、シール部の錆の状況を確認する。その結果、ベアリング内に水が到達した形跡が確認された場合は、当該後輪アクスル一式を新品と交換する。
