Defect

On diesel engine vehicles, the DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) may produce elevated exhaust gas temperatures during regeneration (combustion removal of collected particulate matter) following high-load operation such as highway driving. If the vehicle is parked near vegetation covering the exhaust pipe outlet area while DPF regeneration occurs under these conditions, the vegetation may ignite and cause fire damage to the vehicle body.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, the engine control computer program is updated.

状況

(2)ディーゼルエンジン車のDPF(ディーゼル粒子状物質除去装置)において、高速走行などの高負荷運転後の再生(捕集した粒子状物質の燃焼除去)時に、排気ガス温度が高い場合がある。そのため、高速走行などの高負荷運転後に、排気管出口付近が草などで覆われるような場所に停車してDPFの再生を行なった場合、排気管後方の草などが発火し、車体などを焼損するおそれがある。

改善措置

(2)全車両、エンジン制御コンピュータのプログラムを修正する。
