Defect
The engine control computer contains an accelerator diagnostic control program developed with improper logic, and evaluation of the failsafe control was insufficient. Under specific accelerator pedal operating conditions, the control computer may incorrectly determine that the accelerator pedal sensor has failed. When this misdiagnosis occurs, the failsafe control activates and cuts engine output, rendering the vehicle inoperable.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, reprogram the engine control computer with a corrected software program.

状況
エンジン制御コンピュータにおいて、開発時のアクセル診断制御プログラムが不適切であること及びフェールセーフ制御の評価が不十分であったことにより、特定のアクセルペダル操作を行なった場合にアクセルペダルセンサが故障していると誤判定することがある。そのため、出力を止めるフェールセーフ制御が作動し、走行不能となるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該エンジン制御コンピュータのプログラムを修正する。
