Defect
The manufacturing program for the fuse box is incorrect, causing the blower motor wiring terminal to be installed in reverse orientation in some units. This results in insufficient terminal retention, allowing the terminal to chafe and generate insulating deposits. In the worst case, the defroster may become inoperative.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, the fuse box serial number is inspected and, where applicable, a sub-harness is added.
