Defect

On heavy trucks, the body structure design related to equipment mounting is inadequate, leaving insufficient clearance between the brackets that join the longitudinal and cross members and the adjacent electrical wiring or air lines. During operation, vibration causes the brackets to contact and damage the electrical wiring or air lines. In the worst case, the engine may stall without warning or brake effectiveness may be reduced.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, inspect the clearance between the joining brackets and the electrical wiring or air lines. Where clearance is insufficient, machine the underside of the joining bracket to provide adequate clearance. If the electrical wiring or air lines are damaged, replace them with new parts before machining the bracket underside.

状況

大型トラックの車体構造部において、架装に係る設計が不適切なため、縦根太と横根太を結合するブラケットと、電気配線またはエア配管の隙間が少ないものがある。そのため、走行時の振動等により当該ブラケットと電気配線等が接触し、そのままま使用を続けると、電気配線等が損傷して、最悪の場合、意図せずにエンジンが停止、またはブレーキが効きづらくなるおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、結合ブラケットの電気配線等の隙間を点検し、隙間が少ない場合は、結合ブラケット下面を加工して電気配線等との隙間を確保する。また、電気配線やエア配管に損傷がある場合、新品の電気配線やエア配管に交換した上で結合ブラケット下面を加工する。
