Defect
The seal design at the cylinder fastening section of the pop-up engine hood actuator is inadequate, allowing water to intrude into the actuator interior. Continued use in this condition may prevent the rear edge of the engine hood from rising sufficiently during a collision. In the worst case, the vehicle may fail to meet the pedestrian head and leg protection Safety Standards.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the pop-up engine hood actuator with a corrected part.

状況
ポップアップエンジンフードのアクチュエータにおいて、シリンダ締結部のシール構造が不適切なため、アクチュエータ内部に水が浸入するものがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、衝突時にエンジンフード後端が十分に上がらず、最悪の場合、歩行者頭部及び脚部保護の基準を満足しないおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該ポップアップエンジンフードアクチュエータを対策品と交換する。
