Defect
During final inspection at the vehicle manufacturing plant, pass/fail determinations were made by inspectors who had not been properly appointed for that role. As a result, inspections related to the Safety Standards for road vehicle safety and environmental performance were not conducted appropriately.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, a certified vehicle inspector at a designated maintenance facility will perform an inspection covering all Safety Standards requirements. Any non-conformances identified will be corrected.
