Defect
On refuse collection trucks, the spline profile of the hydraulic pump drive shaft and the mating connection flange for the work equipment hydraulic pump are incorrectly designed. Over time, play develops between the drive shaft spline and the connection flange. Continued operation allows this play to loosen the bolts securing the connection flange. In the worst case, the bolts may disengage, the connection flange may separate from the spline shaft, and the hydraulic pump propeller shaft may fall onto the roadway, creating a hazard for other traffic.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the affected hydraulic pump and connection flange with a key-shaft type assembly.

状況
塵芥車の作業装置用油圧ポンプにおいて、油圧ポンプを駆動するための駆動軸のスプライン形状と接続フランジの形状が不適切なため、経年で駆動軸スプラインと接続用フランジのガタが大きくなることがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、ガタにより接続用フランジを固定するボルトが緩み、最悪の場合、ボルトが外れてスプライン軸から接続用フランジが抜け、油圧ポンプ駆動用推進軸が脱落して他の交通を妨げるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該油圧ポンプと接続用フランジをキー軸構造のものと交換する。
