Defect
The timing chain tensioner tension-adjustment mechanism is improperly designed, resulting in insufficient tension on the timing chain and abnormal noise during engine operation. Continued use may cause the timing chain to fail and, in the worst case, the engine may stall and be unable to restart.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the timing chain tensioner with a corrected/revised part. Additionally, inspect the timing chain system; if damage is found, replace the entire system with new parts.

状況
タイミングチェーンテンショナーの張力調整機構の構造が不適切なため、タイミングチェーンにかかる張力が不足して、エンジン駆動中に異音が発生することがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、タイミングチェーンが破損し、最悪の場合、エンストして再始動できなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、タイミングチェーンテンショナーを対策品と交換する。また、タイミングチェーンシステムを点検し、損傷が確認された場合は、システム一式を新品と交換する。
