Defect
The bolts securing the water pump to the water pump pulley are insufficiently torqued, causing the bolts to loosen and produce abnormal noise. Continued use may cause the bolts to fall out, allowing the accessory belt to disengage. This results in charging and cooling failures, causing warning lights to illuminate. In the worst case, the engine may stall and fail to restart.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the tightening torque of the water pump pulley mounting bolts. Where looseness is found, replace the water pump and water pump pulley with new parts, replace the mounting bolts with the corrected parts, and tighten to the revised specified torque. Where no looseness is found, replace the mounting bolts with the corrected parts and tighten to the revised specified torque.

状況
ウォータポンプとウォータポンププーリを締結するボルトの締結力が不足しているため、当該ボルトが緩み、異音が発生するものがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、当該ボルトが脱落して補機ベルトが外れ、発電不良及び冷却不良により警告灯が点灯し、最悪の場合、エンジンが停止して再始動できなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、ウォータポンププーリ締結ボルトの締付けトルクを点検し、緩みのあるものはウォータポンプとウォータポンププーリを新品に交換するとともに、締結ボルトを対策品に交換し、改善した規定トルクにて締付ける。緩みのないものは、締結ボルトを対策品に交換し、改善した規定トルクにて締付ける。
