Defect
The impeller cover of the high-pressure fuel pump is improperly shaped. In extremely low ambient temperatures, airflow during vehicle operation causes moisture in the fuel to freeze at the filter section inside the pump. This blocks the filter, illuminates a warning lamp, and causes engine malfunction. In the worst case, the engine may stall while the vehicle is moving.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the impeller cover with the corrected part and reprogram the engine control computer.

状況
高圧燃料ポンプにおいて、ポンプカバーの形状が不適切なため、外気温が極めて低い場合に走行風の影響を受け、燃料中の水分がポンプ内のフィルタ部で氷結することがある。そのため、当該フィルタが詰まり、警告灯が点灯するとともにエンジンが不調となり、最悪の場合、走行中にエンストするおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該ポンプカバーを対策品と交換するとともに、エンジン制御コン ピュータのプログラムを修正する。
