Defect
On light trucks, UV degradation during service life combined with residual stress from the manufacturing process may cause cracks to develop in the resin upper section of the fuel pump. Continued operation allows the cracks to progress, potentially causing a fuel leak.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, add a rubber cover over the upper resin section of the fuel pump. Additionally, inspect the fuel pump and, if cracks are found in the upper resin section, replace the fuel pump with a new unit.

状況
小型トラックの燃料ポンプにおいて、使用過程における紫外線による劣化および製造時の残留応力によって樹脂部に亀裂が発生することがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、亀裂が進行して燃料が漏れるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、燃料ポンプの上部樹脂部分にゴム製カバーを追加する。 また、燃料ポンプを点検し、上部樹脂部分に亀裂がある場合は、燃料ポンプを新品に交換する。
