Defect
In the front wheel brake system, the inner wire is cast into the cable end at an incorrect position. Repeated operation of the parking lever — used when stopping or parking on slopes — places excessive stress on the cable end, causing it to fracture. In the worst case, the front wheel brake loses braking effectiveness.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the front wheel brake cable with a corrected part. As an interim measure pending parts availability, adjust the brake cable slack to the specified value and inspect the cable end; replace the brake cable on any vehicle showing damage. Additionally, verify the brake cable manufacturing lot number and replace the cable on any vehicle with an affected lot number.

状況
前輪ブレーキにおいて、ケーブルエンドへのインナワイヤ鋳込み位置が不適切なため、坂道などの駐停車時に使用するパーキングレバーの操作を繰返し行うと、ケーブルエンドが破損し、前輪ブレーキが利かなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、前輪用ブレーキケーブルを良品と交換する。なお、改善措置用部品の供給に時間を要することから、当面の暫定措置として、全車両のブレーキケーブルの遊び量を指定値に調整するとともに、ケーブルエンドを点検し、損傷のあるものはブレーキケーブルを良品と交換する。また、ブレーキケーブルの製造ロット番号を確認し、該当するものはブレーキケーブルを良品と交換する。
