Defect
On double-decker large buses, the wiring connector for the air conditioning unit has insufficient waterproofing. During operation, saltwater containing winter road de-icing agents thrown up by the rear wheels may enter the connector. Repeated wetting and drying over time can cause a short circuit inside the connector and arcing in the surrounding wiring, resulting in burning of the connector and wiring. In the worst case, a vehicle fire may occur.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the air conditioning unit wiring connector with a corrected part and add a protective circuit to the generator circuit of the unit.

状況
二階建ての大型バスにおいて、エアコンユニット用配線のコネクタの防水性が不十分なため、走行中に後輪が巻き上げた冬季の融雪剤を含む塩水等がコネクタに浸入する場合がある。そのため、使用過程において、被水と乾燥を繰り返すと、当該コネクタ内でのショートとコネクタ付近でのアークが発生することで、当該コネクタや配線の焼損が生じ、最悪の場合、火災に至るおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、エアコンユニット用配線のコネクタ部分を対策品と交換するとともに、当該ユニットの発電機用回路に保護回路を追加する。
