Defect
On turbocharged vehicles, the engine control wiring harness routed through the engine compartment is cut to an incorrect length, leaving insufficient clearance between the wiring and the thermostat fitting mounting bolt. Continued operation in this condition may damage the wiring. In the worst case, the engine may stall while driving and fail to restart.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, a protective cap is installed on the thermostat fitting mounting bolt. The engine control wiring is inspected: where no protective tube is present, one is added; where the length of wiring between fixing clamps is too short, the clamp positions are repositioned. Any wiring found to be damaged is repaired.

状況
ターボチャージャ付車両において、エンジンルーム内のエンジン制御用電気配線の配線長が不適切なため、当該配線とサーモスタットフィッティング取付けボルトとの隙間が不足しているものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、当該配線が損傷し、最悪の場合、走行中エンストし再始動ができなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、サーモスタットフィッティング取付けボルトに保護キャップを装着すると共に、エンジン制御用電気配線を点検し、保護チューブが取付けられていないものは、保護チューブを追加し、電気配線の固定クランプ間の長さが短いものは、固定クランプ位置を変更する。なお、当該配線が損傷している場合は、補修する。
