Defect
On the electric power steering control unit, the mounting holes in the control board were machined incorrectly, causing deformation of the board on some units. Continued use may cause solder joints on the control board to separate, illuminating the warning lamp and disabling steering assist, which increases the steering effort required.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, verify the serial number of the control unit and, if the unit is within the affected range, replace it with a conforming part.

状況
(3)電動パワーステアリングのコントロールユニットにおいて、制御基板の組付け用穴の加工が不適切なため、制御基板が変形しているものがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、制御基板の半田が剥がれて警告灯が点灯するとともに、操舵時のアシストが停止し、ハンドル操作力が増大するおそれがある。
改善措置
(3)全車両、当該コントロールユニットの製造番号を確認し、対象の場合は、当該コントロールユニットを良品と交換する。
