Defect
On manual transmission vehicles, the rear differential pinion shaft has insufficient strength. Repeated operation under excessive load may cause the pinion shaft to fracture. This results in abnormal noise or loss of mobility. In the worst case, the wheels may lock.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the pinion shaft with a corrected part.

状況
手動変速機付車において、後輪デファレンシャル(差動装置)のピニオンシャフトの強度が不足しているため、過大な荷重がかかる走行を繰り返すと、当該ピニオンシャフトが折損する場合がある。そのため、異音の発生、または走行不能となり、最悪の場合、車輪がロックするおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該ピニオンシャフトを対策品に交換する。
