Defect

In the brake booster system, the vacuum pump sprocket has insufficient strength, causing abnormal wear on the sprocket teeth. Continued use allows the vacuum pump chain to ride up over the worn teeth, become trapped between the chain and the chain guide, and lock the rear cam sprocket. In the worst case, the chain may break or the rear cam sprocket bolt may fracture, disabling the brake booster and reducing braking effectiveness.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, replace the cylinder head rear cover assembly with a unit fitted with a conforming vacuum pump sprocket.

状況

ブレーキ倍力装置において、バキュームポンプのスプロケットの強度が不足しているため、スプロケットの歯が異常に磨耗するものがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、バキュームポンプチェーンが当該スプロケットの歯に乗り上げ、チェーンガイドとの間に挟まれ、リヤカムスプロケットの回転がロックし、最悪の場合、チェーンが切れる、又はリヤカムスプロケットボルトが折損し、ブレーキ倍力装置が作動しなくなり、ブレーキの効きが悪くなるおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、良品のバキュームポンプスプロケットを組付けたシリンダーヘッドリヤカバー一式と交換する。
