Defect
On the steering lock assembly, the retaining pin for the key cylinder cap is improperly press-fitted, causing the pin to back out and the cap to separate. Continued use allows internal key cylinder components to dislodge. In the worst case, the steering lock may engage while the vehicle is in motion, resulting in loss of steering control.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the key cylinder at the affected location. If the retaining pin is found protruding, replace the key cylinder with a conforming unit. On cylinders showing no abnormality, install a pin-retention ring at the affected location.

状況
施錠装置において、キーシリンダーキャップ固定ピンの圧入が不適切なものがあるため、ピンが抜けてキャップが外れるものがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、キーシリンダー内部の部品が抜け出し、最悪の場合、走行中にかじ取り装置の施錠装置が作動して、操舵できなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、キーシリンダーの当該部位を点検し、キャップ固定用ピンが浮き出しているものはキーシリンダーを良品と交換する。なお、異常のないものについては、当該部位にピン抜け防止用リングを取り付ける。
