Defect
The reverse lamp switch mounted on the lower section of the manual transmission is affected by two separate manufacturing defects. First, burrs left on the contact-switching shaft during molding create insufficient sealing, allowing transmission lubricating oil to enter the switch interior. This increases resistance between the contacts and, in the worst case, may prevent the reverse lamp from illuminating. Second, improperly assembled contacts during production cause deformation of the contact shape, reducing contact pressure. Arc discharge then causes accelerated wear of the contacts and, in the worst case, may prevent the reverse lamp from illuminating.
Corrective action
On all affected vehicles, replace the reverse lamp switch with a corrected part.

状況
手動式変速機下部に取り付けられた後退灯スイッチにおいて、 １．接点切り替え用軸の成形時にバリが残っていたため、シール性が不足しているものがある。そのため、変速機内の潤滑油がスイッチ内部に侵入して接点間の抵抗が増大し、最悪の場合、後退灯が点灯しないおそれがある。 ２．製造時の組み付けが不適切なため、接点の形状が変形し、接点間の接触圧力が不足しているものがある。そのため、アーク放電により接点が早期に摩耗し、摩耗が進行すると、最悪の場合、後退灯が点灯しないおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該後退灯スイッチを対策品と交換する。
