Defect

In the intake coupler that routes air from the intercooler to the engine, the washer supporting the shaft of the inertia supercharging valve is improperly shaped. Engine vibration causes wear on the washer and its contact surface, introducing play into the valve shaft and allowing the valve to contact the intake coupler. Continued use generates excessive stress on the valve shaft, causing it to fracture. The resulting fragments are drawn into the engine, producing abnormal noise. In the worst case, the engine may sustain damage. (Note: This record corrects the vehicle type codes, chassis numbers, production period, and unit count originally filed under recall notification No. 1520 on September 14, 2005, due to a tabulation error identified on January 25, 2006.)

Corrective action

On all vehicles, replace the intake coupler assembly with the corrected part.

状況

インタクーラから空気をエンジンに導く吸気カプラ内の慣性過給バルブにおいて、当該バルブの軸を支持する座金の形状が不適切なため、エンジンの振動等により座金及び座金の接触面が摩耗し、バルブの軸にがたが生じ、バルブが吸気カプラに干渉するものがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、バルブの軸に高応力が発生し折損して、破片が原動機内に吸込まれて、異音が発生し、最悪の場合、原動機が破損するおそれがある。 （備考）本件は平成１７年９月１４日にリコール届出番号「１５２０」で届出を行ったものですが、対象車両の集計に一部誤りがあることが判明したため、型式、車台番号、製作期間及び台数を訂正するものです。（平成１８年１月２５日）

改善措置

全車両、吸気カプラ一式を対策品と交換する。
