Defect
The valve-retaining supporter spring, which forms part of the ground circuit for the low-beam headlamp, has insufficient retaining force. Variation in connector assembly and age-related deterioration cause inadequate contact pressure at the ground circuit connection point. Vibration then generates sparking at that contact point, producing heat. This heat deforms the supporter spring and, in the worst case, causes the low-beam headlamp to fail.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the ground circuit contact point of the low-beam headlamp. If the supporter spring shows thermal deformation, replace the complete low-beam headlamp assembly with the corrected part. If no thermal deformation is found, replace only the supporter spring with the corrected part.

②すれ違い用前照灯のアース回路の一部であるバルブ固定用サポータースプリングの保持力が不足しているため、コネクターの組付けばらつきおよび経年劣化によりアース回路の接点圧が不十分となり、振動等によりアース回路接点部でスパークが発生し接点部が発熱する場合がある。そのため、サポータースプリングが熱変形し、最悪の場合、すれ違い用前照灯が不灯となるおそれがある。
改善措置
②全車両、すれ違い用前照灯のアース回路接点部を点検し、サポータースプリングに熱変形がある場合は、すれ違い用前照灯一式を対策品と交換する。サポータースプリングに熱変形がない場合は、サポータースプリングを対策品と交換する。
