Defect

During manufacturing of the electric fuel pump, foreign material was not fully removed from the assembly. The foreign material damages the wiring insulation of the internal motor, causing a short circuit that may blow the fuel pump circuit fuse or produce abnormal wear on the motor brushes. As a result, the fuel pump may stop operating, causing the engine to stall and preventing restart.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, replace the affected fuel pump with a known-good unit.

状況

②電動式燃料ポンプの製造時に異物の除去が不充分なため、内部モータの配線被覆が異物 により損傷して短絡し、燃料ポンプ回路のヒューズが切れたり、モータブラシが異常摩耗 することがある。そのため、燃料ポンプが作動しなくなり、エンジンが停止して再始動で きなくなるおそれがある。

改善措置

②全車両、当該燃料ポンプを良品と交換する。
