Defect
On refuse collection vehicles in which the battery position has been relocated, the battery wiring is routed improperly. Engine vibration causes the positive cable to contact and chafe against the ground cable or chassis frame components. Continued use damages the insulation on the positive cable, resulting in a short circuit and smoke. In the worst case, a vehicle fire may occur.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the battery wiring. On Mitsubishi vehicles, add protective tubing and clamps at all interference points. On Hino and Toyota vehicles, reroute the wiring to maintain adequate clearance from chassis frame components. Any damaged battery wiring is to be repaired.

状況
バッテリー位置を変更した塵芥車において、バッテリー配線の取りまわしが不適切なため 、エンジンの振動等により、プラス線がアース線もしくは車枠部品と干渉するものがある 。このため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、当該プラス配線の被覆が損傷し短絡、発 煙が起こり、最悪の場合、火災に至るおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、バッテリー配線を点検し、①三菱車については、干渉部の各配線に保護チューブ 及びクランプを追加する。②日野・トヨタ車については、当該配線の取りまわしを変更し 、車枠部品との隙間を確保する。尚、バッテリー配線が損傷しているものは修理を実施す る。
