Defect

The bracket that connects the ground wire for the engine electronic control unit and related components (engine ground bracket) has insufficient strength. Engine vibration causes the bracket to resonate, generating cracks. Continued use can cause the bracket to fracture, degrading the ground circuit. In the worst case, the engine stalls and cannot be restarted. Note: This notification corrects errors in the VIN range, production period, and vehicle count reported in the original recall filed by Hino Motors, Ltd. on July 18, 2006 (Recall No. 1696). (Amended August 8, 2006.)

Replace the affected bracket on all vehicles with a corrected part.

状況

原動機用電子制御装置等のアース線を接続するブラケット(エンジンアースブラケット)の強度が不足しているため、原動機の振動によりブラケットが共振し亀裂が発生するものがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、当該ブラケットが折損してアース機能が不良となり、エンストし再始動できなくなるおそれがある。 本件は、日野自動車株式会社より平成18年7月18日付けリコール届出1696にて届出を行ったものですが、リコール対象車両の車台番号の範囲、製作期間及び台数の一部について、誤りがあったことが判明したため訂正するものです。(平成18年8月8日)

改善措置

全車両、当該ブラケットを対策品と交換する。
