Defect
In the steering linkage, the intermediate arm shaft has insufficient strength, causing some shafts to bend. Continued use in this condition will damage the bearing. In the worst case, the shaft fractures and the driver loses steering control. Note: This notification supersedes the interim corrective measures filed under the recall notification dated November 28, 2002, and establishes permanent corrective measures.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the arm shaft, thrust bearing, and plain washer with corrected parts.

かじ取り装置のリンケージの中間アームシャフトにおいて、当該シャフトの強度が不適 切なため曲がりが発生しているものがあり、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、べアリン グが破損し、最悪の場合、シャフトが折損してハンドル操作ができなくなるおそれがある 。 備考:本届出は、平成14年11月28日付けリコール届出の暫定的改善措置に換えて、 あらたに恒久的な改善措置を届け出るものである。
改善措置
全車両、アームシャフト、スラストワッシャおよびプレーンワッシャを対策品に交換す る。
