Defect
On 4-wheel drive vehicles, the rear universal joint of the front-axle propeller shaft has insufficient durability. Grease leaks from the universal joint, causing inadequate lubrication and abnormal noise. Continued use may cause the universal joint to fracture and the propeller shaft to separate, damaging the transmission and causing an oil leak. In the worst case, a vehicle fire may result.
Corrective action
Replace the propeller shaft with a corrected part on all vehicles.

状況
4輪駆動車の前輪駆動用プロペラシャフトにおいて、リヤ側自在継手の耐久性が不足し ているため、当該自在継手からグリスが漏れて潤滑不足となり異音が発生することがあり 、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、自在継手が破損してプロペラシャフトが外れ、変速 機を破損してオイルが漏れ、最悪の場合、火災に至るおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該プロペラシャフトを対策品と交換する。
