Defect

On vehicles with a wheelbase of 2,180 mm, an inadequate powertrain design causes the propeller shaft to vibrate abnormally at top speed. In the worst case, the propeller shaft may fracture, rendering the vehicle inoperable.

Corrective action

As an interim measure on all vehicles, replace the propeller shaft with a new unit and adjust the fuel injection pump to limit maximum vehicle speed. A permanent remedy will be implemented once a solution for the abnormal vibration at top speed is determined.

状況

 ホイールベースが2,180mmの車両において、動力伝達装置の構造が不適切なため 、最高車速域においてプロペラシャフトが異常振動を起こし、最悪の場合、当該プロペラ シャフトが折損して走行不能に至る恐れがある。

改善措置

 暫定措置として、全車両、当該プロペラシャフトを新品と交換するとともに、燃料噴射 ポンプを調整することにより、最高車速を抑える。  さらに、最高車速域における異常振動に対する措置が決まり次第、恒久的な措置を講ず る。
