Defect
On certain light trucks, the bearing seal on the propeller shaft universal joint journal bearing was damaged during the manufacturing process. Continued use allows grease to leak from the bearing, causing insufficient lubrication. In the worst case, the bearing may seize.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the propeller shaft with a non-defective unit.

状況
小型トラックのプロペラシャフトにおいて、ユニバーサルジョイントのジャーナルベアリングの製造工程で、ベアリングシールを傷付けたものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、ベアリングからグリースが流出して潤滑不良となり、最悪の場合、ベアリングが焼付くおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、プロペラシャフトを良品に交換する。
