Defect

On vehicles with a wheelbase of 2,810 mm, an inadequate powertrain design causes the propeller shaft to vibrate abnormally at top speed. In the worst case, the propeller shaft may fracture, rendering the vehicle inoperable. Note: Of the affected vehicles already in service, 208 units received an interim remedy in September 1995 under notification number 452, consisting of propeller shaft replacement and fuel injection pump adjustment to limit maximum vehicle speed.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, replace the transmission and propeller shaft with corrected/revised parts. On vehicles that received the interim remedy, readjust the fuel injection pump to restore the original maximum vehicle speed.

状況

 ホイールベースが2810mmの車両において、動力伝達装置の構造が不適切なため、 最高車速域においてプロペラシャフトが異常振動を起こし、最悪の場合、当該プロペラシ ャフトが切損して走行不能に至るおそれがある。  ただし、当該対象車のうち既販車208台については、平成7年9月、プロペラシャフ トを新品と交換し、燃料噴射ポンプを調整することにより最高車速を抑える暫定措置(届 出番号:452)を実施した。

改善措置

 全車両、変速機及びプロペラシャフトを対策品と交換する。  暫定措置が実施してあるものについては、燃料噴射ポンプを再調整し最高車速を元の状 態に戻す。
