Issue
The Smart Brake Support control software in the vehicle control computer is incorrectly configured. When angled metal walls or similar structures are present alongside the road, the system's lateral proximity detection function during forward travel may malfunction. This can cause the system to issue a proximity warning alert and display a warning on the display even when no collision risk exists. In the worst case, the collision mitigation brake system may activate, causing sudden braking.
Corrective action
On all affected vehicles, reprogram the vehicle control computer with the corrected/updated software.

状況
車両制御コンピュータにおいて、スマート・ブレーキ・サポートの制御プログラムが不適切なため、道路横に斜めの金属壁などがあった場合に、前進時左右接近物検知機能が誤作動することがある。そのため、衝突の可能性がないにもかかわらず障害物との接近を知らせる警報音が鳴り、ディスプレイに警告表示が出て、最悪の場合、衝突被害軽減ブレーキが作動し、急制動がかかるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、車両制御コンピュータの制御プログラムを対策プログラムに修正する。
