Issue
The taper machining on the crankshaft at the generator rotor mounting area is incorrect, causing some crankshafts and generator rotors to not mate properly. During engine operation, excessive load is placed on the generator rotor positioning keyway of the crankshaft. In the worst case, the crankshaft may fracture, causing an engine stall while driving.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the surface of the crankshaft taper at the generator rotor mounting area for wear. If wear exceeds the allowable limit, replace the crankshaft with a conforming unit and the generator rotor with a new part. If wear is within the allowable limit, measure the taper geometry; if the taper geometry is incorrect, replace the generator rotor with a corrected part matched to the crankshaft taper geometry.

状況
クランクシャフトの発電機ロータ取付部のテーパ加工が不適切なため、当該クランクシャフトと発電機ロータが正しく嵌合していないものがある。そのため、エンジン回転時にクランクシャフトの発電機ロータ位置決めキー溝に過大な荷重がかかり、最悪の場合、クランクシャフトが破損し、走行中にエンストに至るおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、クランクシャフトの発電機ロータ取付部(テーパ部)表面の摩耗を点検し、許容以上の摩耗が認められる場合は、クランクシャフトを良品に、発電機ロータを新品に交換する。 摩耗が許容内である場合は、テーパ形状を測定し、テーパ形状が不適切なものは、発電機ロータをクランクシャフトのテーパ形状に合わせた対策品に交換する。
