Filing in context
The Computer (emissions/noise) is the most frequently cited component category in this archive, appearing in 4 of its 4,890 filings. This filing is one of 42 Isuzu notifications from 2011 in this archive. For scale, 2,862 of the 4,890 filings in this archive report a larger number of affected vehicles; the vehicles involved here were manufactured over a span of about 11 months.
Issue
On medium-duty trucks meeting 2010 (Heisei 22) emission regulations, the engine control program may cause nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions to exceed specified values under certain driving conditions.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, the engine control unit program governing emission control devices will be reprogrammed as an interim measure, to be carried out as soon as the updated software is ready. Note: the interim reprogramming may cause the particulate matter removal device (DPD) regeneration warning to illuminate frequently. A permanent countermeasure addressing the engine assembly and related systems is under development and will be implemented once finalized.
