Defect
Investigation of field-returned driver-side airbag inflators conducted by another manufacturer revealed significant variation in the density of the gas-generating propellant. Although the root cause has not been determined, there is concern that the airbag may not deploy normally during a deployment event. As a precautionary measure, the affected inflators are to be replaced with new units.
Corrective action
As a precautionary measure on all affected vehicles, replace the driver-side airbag inflator with a new unit. Retrieved units are subject to root-cause investigation.

状況
運転者席用エアバッグのインフレータ（膨張装置）において、他社で市場回収品を調査した結果、ガス発生剤の密度にばらつきが大きいものを確認した。このため、原因は判明していないが、エアバッグ展開時に正常に展開しないおそれがあることから、予防的措置として当該インフレータを新品に交換する。
改善措置
全車両、予防的措置として、運転者席用エアバッグのインフレータを新品と交換、回収して不具合原因調査を実施する。
