Defect
The turn/light switch is insufficiently rigid at its mounting point, causing switch operation to wear the connector terminals. The resulting wear debris oxidizes and forms an insulating deposit between the terminals. Continued use allows this deposit to become lodged between the terminals, causing poor conductivity. As a result, the headlights, parking lights, front fog lamps, tail lamps, license plate lights, and interior lighting linked to the switch may fail to illuminate or may flicker, and the turn signals may fail to illuminate.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, apply grease to both connector terminal contact points.
