Defect
In the air conditioning system, insufficient consideration during development of the control program's fault-response logic may cause the system to execute an overly aggressive fail-safe response — shutting down the heater — when a specific diagnostic trouble code is detected. This reduces defroster performance, making it difficult to clear fogging or frost from the windshield.
Corrective action
All vehicles: reprogram the air conditioning amplifier fail-safe control software to the corrected specification.

状況
エアコンシステムにおいて、関連部品が故障した際の制御プログラムの検討が不十分なため、特定の故障診断コードを検出すると、ヒータを停止する過度なフェールセーフ制御を行うことがある。そのため、デフロスタの性能が低下して、前面ガラスの曇りや霜がとれにくくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、エアコンアンプリファイアのフェールセーフ制御プログラムを対策仕様に修正する。
