Defect
In the air conditioning system, insufficient consideration during development of the control program's fault-response logic may cause the system to execute an overly aggressive fail-safe response — shutting down the heater — when a specific diagnostic trouble code is detected. This reduces defroster performance, making it difficult to clear fogging or frost from the windshield.
Corrective action
All vehicles: reprogram the air conditioning amplifier fail-safe control software to the corrected specification.
