Defect
In the automatic transmission, insufficient consideration of the control program allows component overspeed to go unsuppressed when a fault occurs. This causes transmission damage and renders the vehicle inoperable. In the worst case, transmission fluid leaking from the damaged unit may contact the exhaust pipe and cause a vehicle fire.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, reprogram the transmission control computer with the corrected software specification.

状況
自動変速機（トランスミッション）において、制御プログラムの検討が不十分なため、故障が生じた際に構成部品の過回転を抑制できないことがある。そのため、トランスミッションが損傷して走行不能となり、最悪の場合、漏れたトランスミッションフルードが排気管に付着して火災に至るおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、トランスミッション用制御コンピュータのプログラムを対策仕様に修正する。
