Defect

The front and rear wheel speed sensors have an inadequate waterproofing design, allowing water to enter the sensor interior during driving in rain or similar conditions. Water intrusion causes a short circuit in the sensor circuit, disrupting the wheel speed signal. This may result in speedometer malfunction or traction control activation causing poor acceleration. In the worst case, the system may falsely detect wheel lock while driving and the brakes may become ineffective.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, replace the front and rear wheel speed sensors with corrected/revised parts.
