Defect
An incorrect plastic joint was assembled between the speedometer gearbox and the drive sprocket. Continued use causes the joint's inner surface to wear prematurely, preventing rotation from the drive sprocket from being transmitted to the speedometer. In the worst case, the speedometer ceases to function correctly.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the entire gearbox assembly with a unit fitted with the correct joint.

状況
スピードメータギアボックスとドライブスプロケットを接続する樹脂製ジョイントに誤品を組付けたものがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、ジョイント内面が早期に摩耗し、ドライブスプロケットの回転を速度計に伝達できなくなり、速度計が正常に作動しなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、良品のジョイントが組付けられたギアボックス一式に交換する。
