Defect
On the rear stop switch, an incorrect material formulation for the waterproof grommet results in insufficient durability. Ozone degradation causes the grommet to crack, allowing rainwater to enter the switch and contact the switch contacts. This may cause the brake lights to illuminate without the brake pedal being depressed. In the worst case, the switch contacts develop a conduction fault and the brake lights fail to illuminate even when the brake pedal is pressed.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the rear stop switch with a conforming unit.

状況
①リヤストップスイッチにおいて、防水用グロメット材料の配合が不適切なため、耐久性が不足しているものがある。そのため、オゾン劣化により当該グロメットに亀裂が発生し、スイッチ内部に雨水等が浸入してスイッチ接点部に付着すると、ブレーキペダルを踏まなくても制動灯が点灯し、最悪の場合、スイッチ接点部が導通不良となりブレーキペダルを踏んでも制動灯が点灯しないおそれがある。
改善措置
①全車両、リヤストップスイッチを良品と交換する。
