Defect

On large tractor coupling devices, the lock guard designed to prevent false coupling has an incorrect shape. When a coupling operation is performed with the tractor and trailer at mismatched heights, the lock guard fails to function correctly, resulting in a false-coupled condition. At the same time, the coupler lock indicator lamp inside the vehicle's meter cluster may illuminate, indicating a completed coupling. If the operator continues use without visually confirming the coupling state, the tractor and trailer may separate while driving.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, replace the lock guard with the corrected part.
