Filing in context

Defect
On large tractors, the coupler lock guard designed to prevent improper trailer coupling has an incorrect geometry. When a coupling operation is performed with the tractor and trailer at mismatched heights, the lock guard may fail to function correctly, resulting in an improper coupling state. Simultaneously, the coupler lock indicator lamp inside the instrument cluster may illuminate, falsely indicating a completed coupling. If the operator does not visually verify the coupling state and continues operation, the trailer may separate from the tractor while in motion.
Corrective action
Notify all operators to align the tractor and trailer heights before coupling and to visually verify the coupling state after each operation. On all vehicles, replace the lock guard with the corrected part.
