Defect

On large tractors equipped with a two-axle coupler, the lock guard was redesigned to improve manufacturing process efficiency; however, its shape is incorrect. When a coupling operation is performed with the tractor and trailer at mismatched heights, the lock guard fails to function correctly, resulting in a false-coupled condition. At the same time, the instrument cluster may display a "Trailer Coupling Complete" message. If the operator continues use without visually confirming the coupling state, the tractor and trailer may separate while driving.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, inspect the lock guard shape. If the vehicle is subject to replacement, replace the lock guard with the corrected part, measure the top surface of the jaw and the apex of the lock guard radius, and adjust as necessary. Until the replacement is completed, notify operators to match the tractor and trailer heights before coupling and to visually confirm the coupling state after the operation.

状況

大型トラクタの2軸式カプラにおいて、製造工程の作業性改善で設計変更したロックガード(誤連結防止部品)の形状が不適切なため、トラクタとトレーラの高さが合っていない状態で連結操作を行うと、ロックガードが正しく作動せず誤連結状態となるとともに、インストルメントクラスタに「トレーラ連結完了」のメッセージが表示されることがある。そのため、目視による連結状態を確認しないまま使用を続けると、走行中にトラクタとトレーラが分離するおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、ロックガードの形状を確認し、交換対象の場合はロックガードを対策品と交換し、ジョー上面とロックガードR部頂点を計測の上、必要に応じて調整する。なお、対策品に交換するまでの間、使用者へ連結操作時にトラクタとトレーラの高さを合わせること、および完了後に連結状態を目視確認することを周知する。
